Charleston Saturday Morning,
My Dearest Frances,
Your letter of
Wednesday has just been received.
Your sufferings from your (illegible) have
been what I apprehended. If
they do not quit, others can be
procured that will, without new
suffering being incurred.
We are in our cause and
shall close it so that I can leave
Charleston on Monday and meet you
at Washington on Wednesday morning
at farthest- your own
Henry.
