Auburn April 5. 1852.
My dear Uncle,
The Reverend J. M. Austin
Birth: 1805-09-26 Death: 1880-12-20
wishes
me to write and to say to you for him that he
desires to borrow $500 for his paper. We made
a loan to that amount sometime ago, under
the impression that the loan would be perma-
nent if he wished it, but the person from whom
he borrowed the money now desires to use it.
The security which he proposes is,
a mortgage on his lot on William Street, or
Eleven shares Auburn Cato Plank Road Stock, or
Note endorsed by Charles Bemis
Birth: 1805-01-09 Death: 1878-07-11

.
There is a mortgage of $900. on the house lot.
It is worth Mr Austin says $2500. The stock
is worth $50 per share. Annual dividend 12 per cent.
Will you please answer immediately
Ever gratefully
Your Nephew
Clarence.
The Honorable
William H. Seward.
