Biography

Oliver Cromwell is an Englishman known for leading Parliamentary forces during the English Civil Wars. During the republican Commonwealth, he held the role of Lord Protector from 1653-1658. He believed deeply in religious toleration. 

Mentioned in William Henry Seward's June 24, 1833 letter to Frances Miller Seward. Also mentioned in his letter of June 21, 1859.
