Cornelia Electa Day (Spencer)
Birth: 5-16-1821
Death: 9-29-1895
RelationshipsParentsSpencer, Joshua Austin
Biography
Cornelia was one of the daughters of Electa and the Hon. Joshua Canfield Spencer. John Spencer served as Sec'y of State for NY during 1839-1841 so the family appears to have lived in Albany during that time. The "Miss Spencer" reference made by FMS before 1842 could possibly refer to Cornelia because she was unmarried during that time, although she also had several other unmarried sisters so there would be multiple "Miss Spencers." Cornelia married Samuel Sherwood Day in 1842. Samuel was a banker and he had 4 children with Cornelia.
