Biography

Queen Caroline was born in south central Germany near Munich. Her father died when she was three years old. Caroline's mother died in 1696, leaving her orphaned at the age of 13. She went to live with her godmother Queen Sophia Charlotte of Prussia. She married Prince George Augustus of Hanover on August 22, 1705. She became the Princess of Wales when his father became King. Caroline and George had 9 children.
