Biography

"Sir Christopher Wren, (born October 20, 1632, East Knoyle, Wiltshire, England—died February 25, 1723, London), designer, astronomer, geometrician, and the greatest English architect of his time. Wren designed 53 London churches, including St. Paul’s Cathedral, as well as many secular buildings of note. He was a founder of the Royal Society (president 1680–82), and his scientific work was highly regarded by Sir Isaac Newton and Blaise Pascal. He was knighted in 1673."
