Biography
It seems very likely that this is the "son of Sir. Forsyth" that attended West Point at the same time as AHS in 1842. His father was the Secretary of State John Forsyth. The list of cadets admitted into the Academy (link below) cites a Robert Charles Forsyth as a new student in 1842, and his birth year of 1826 from the census means he was the same age as AHS so it makes sense they would be in school at the same time. It is not yet evident if Forsyth did graduate from the Academy, and the 1860 census listed his occupation as a "clerk."
