A lawyer from Cortland, New York. He served as a Whig in Congress, from 1847-1851 so he lived in DC with his wife, Lucy. In 1855, he moved to Wisconsin, where he was selected as a Judge. In 1845, he married his first wife Lucy Canfield and in 1863, his second wife Adelaide Atkinson.
