Biography

Hannah Clement Bunker was a Philadelphia native who married prominent lawyer James William Paul. The family of eight was part of the Seward social circle. Hannah was the sister of John A. Dahlgren's late wife Mary Clement Bunker, who died in 1855. The Pauls' last daughter Mary Dahlgren Paul, born after Mary Dahlgren's death in 1858, was likely named for her.
