Biography
Catherine Ella Jones was the daughter of General Walter Flood Jones, a prominent lawyer. She served as a missionary in Shanghai, China, where she died in 1863.
In a June 1855 letter from Elizabeth Collins Lee to Frances Miller Seward, Elizabeth writes that Catherin had been in China for three years and had engaged in missionary work despite opposition from her family. Elizabeth enclosed a letter from Catherine in her note to Frances, but that letter is no longer included.
