Biography

He owned a planing mill in Auburn that exploded on September 20, 1870, and the explosion killed James Hamilton. WSJ mentioned the explosion in a letter to his father, 18700921WSJ_WHS1.

Thomas R. Stalker is listed as a builder in the 1870 census (under LR Stalker).  From census records we can also infer that he married Sarah Stalker, and had two children with Sarah: Josephine and Charles.
