Albany September 21st. 1840.
My dear Jennings,
Mr Blatchford
from going to Cayuga this week. Ou our father
all ready to make their visit here and I could not say them nay.
Mr Duer
it. Mr R. M. Blatchford
upon Mr Duer this morning and explain the matter to him. It is now under-
stood that I will go next week with Mr Duer to Auburn & Chautauque.
This arrangement will give you an opportunity to return to Chautauque and
prepare your papers as you proposed. I will pay the draft you left with
Willard
and Underwood
them the money, suspend entry of it in books & charge it on account,
I will see that Mr Duer assents to it or I will pay it when I come
to Chautauque. Of I am quite satisfied that the whole arrangement
will be carried out when Mr D. and I go out according to the original

proposition. But if it is not consist important to close until after Mr Duer said
it may be delayed. You will exercise your judgment in this matter.
I hope you will see Cook
what they proposed. When you leave for Chautauque please inform me.
