Hopkinton August 12 1841
My dear Uncle
I received you kind letter last week
and have had no good opportunity of answering
it until now. I had a letter from Aunty
two after. It has been very unpleasant for a few
days back, and is raining quite hard now.
Mr. Parmley
Dr Bucklin
and said he was going to stop in Albany and
Call at Uncle; Did uncle see him?.
Our school closes next Tuesday night, and if Uncle is
willing I should like to come home, (as they are going
to improve the building,) and if Uncle thinks it best
will he please send me some money to come
home with. We have an examination of two days.
Mr. Parmley says that I can get fitted for college in
three month in a year from this time.
Mr. Parmley's family have all been sick with the measles
and they have not got quite well yet.

I have not received a letter from Augustus
been here. I have read through 3 books of Caesar
which I shall finish before the endce of the term.
I have not much more to righ write. Will Uncle please
excuse this short letter.
