Florida July 25th 1850
My Dear Henry
It is not without much
hesitation that I obtrude myself on you at–
tentions nor would I do it for myself alone
but I am anxious in relation to my boys
Henry
Birth: 1835-01-09 Death: 1926
ought to attend a school for a-
nother year before going to college, I suppose
that on some branches he is now pre-
pared and on others he is defficient and
he is yet young and I think he would
improve much better in a good school
than at College.
Samuel
Birth: 1838-04-16 Death: 1916-02-22
also needs a school much
better than we have here, The other boys
being much younger it is not so impor-
tant at present to them.
I had supposed that by this time
we would have a good male teacher
engaged if not on the ground, and I
wish to know what the prospect is
A few years more and my interest so

in that time whatever of benefit they are
to derive I wish to secure to them, at
least I wish them to receive a compe-
tent education and if they can have

the opportunity to which they are entitled
in this place it is very important to them
but if they are not there I think they
should be placed where they could
I can hear nothing here in relation to
it and I feel that it was time to come to
some conclusion about it you will therefore
excuse this letter as I know your time is
concerned day and night with matters
which you regard of far greater moment
I had a very pleasant trip out west
have seen the rest of our cousins there
some of whom expressed themselves as wishing
to receive documents from you,
