Key West JanFeb 25th
Dear Mother
We came down from
Cape Sable a few days since and
found your letter of Feb 7th,
It is not the last mail brought
us instructions to leave off work
there for the present on account
of the Indian hostilities the
remainder of the time, I shall
be nearer Key West, I am very
sorry to hear that Uncle Worden
Birth: 1797-03-06 Death: 1856-02-16

is so low,—
Mr Banks
Birth: 1816-01-30 Death: 1894-09-01
was so long in getting
elected that people almost
thought, there was to be no
election.
You seem to be enjoying yourselves
in Washington this Winter more so
than previously.
Your Winter at the North has been
very cool, but here it has been
pleasanter if any thing than the
preceding ones. Half my time out
here is about out aned theshall probably
leave the end of May —Your affect Son
Augustus
