My dear Mother
I received your letter
yesterday and also one from Fanny

a day or two before.
The weather here for the past week
has been delightful, the ice has all
gone out of the river and the first
New York boat of the season made her
appearance at the dock yesterday morning
crowded with freight and passengers.
I have entirely recovered from the effects
of my cold and am again as well as
ever. I called once or twice on Dr Payn

while I was sick and am much pleased
with him.
This evening I attended Dr Hague
