Florida May 25th 1860
My Dear Henry
"One soweth and another
reapeth" is true in the world of grace
I have believed that it was in a meas-
ure applicable to you, in the result
of the convention. You have sown
another apparently has reaped the re-
ward but it may not be.
God reigns I have not lost faith to be-
lieve and trust in Him, He may see
that we need dissapointment, He may
know that it is best that you should
not attain, can we not acquiescence
in a Fathers wise design in our behalf
Reflections such as these have shaped
my course for sometime past, it removes
the edge of dissappointments now, it helps
me to look with hope into the
future. I hope I need no apology

to command (which may not be necessary)
to you.
I see by the public prints that you
will return to the Senate about the
first of June, will you not come
out to Florida and see as to some
improvements and alterations we
propose to make in our house
which we think necessary and
useful and which Mr Grier
Birth: 1802-09-27 Death: 1878-12-20
is
asking us to put of until you come
I would have written before but I
did not know that a letter would
reach you.
Our regards to your Family
