Cataract House
June 29th
My dear Mother
We arrived
here safely last evening after
a hot dusty ride. Jenny
pretty well tired out, but
was quite refreshed again this
morning we have already ac-
complished much in the way of
sight seeing, having visiting most
of the objects of interest on the
Canada side. Mr White
been exceedingly kind accompany-
ing us every where. We shall probably
remain here until Monday morning
before starting down the St Lawrence.
I recd Freds
and am much pained to hear that
Corning
Rhumatism. Should he be worse

Fred to Telegraph me immediately
a telegraph will reach me
here any time before Monday
after which it had better be
sent to Montreal.

The archivists marks this letter as being written in 1861, however, there are
multiple letters (from Fanny Seward, for example, to William Henry Seward Jr. in
Montreal) that indicate William Henry Seward Jr. took this trip to Quebec in
1860. Therefore Frances Adeline Miller Seward has noted the correct
date1860
