Thursday Jan 17–
My dearest Henry
Mrs. B. F. Hall
came to see me the other
day to ask your influence
in getting an office for
her husband
a large family with no
adequate means of support –
The office asked reasoned
to-me was the “Consul
General of Canada British “America” –
She said she came on
her own responsibility as
Mr. Hall had not
suggested to her to do so

The weather has moderated –
Yesterday we had rain –
Will

use to you until Fred
goes to Washington – if
so he will go to you –
Jenny
this winter
God bless & protect
you – your own
