Auburn April 7 th 1861
My dear Father
I was very
glad indeed to get your
letter – It is very pleasant
here now. today is warm
and bright – Yesterday
I was out a good deal –
Coming home from a
visit to Aunty Miller
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05

and Mary Titus
Birth: 1820-05-18 Death: 1895-12-19
after tea
I was surprised to hear so
many birds singing it
seemed as if the whole door-
yard & garden was filled
with music which stream-
out into the street I won-
dered if there was ever such
a place. I found Aunty
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03

and Trip
Birth: 1851-06-13 Death: 1862
just starting

for Pisgah, with the
buggy full of little
bundles of tea and coffee –
sugar, rice and meal –
a can of milk and
a bundle of keys – Aunty
has not been down
today – but Mrs Adams
Unknown

has been up there – she
is pretty well — The
little calf is growing
very fat and strong –
The garden is full of
chickens, I suppose they
will soon be sent to Pis-
gah. they are crowing
all the time now —
We have fresh eggs from
them every day – Will's

geese lay very large eggs –
they have laid about
fourteen – we had one for
dinner one day – it tasted

just like any common
egg –
Will's "office" is being
repaired to be ready by
the first of May – the
floor is down and the
partition between his
two rooms up –
I am afraid neither you
nor Fred
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
take enough
exercise – and I am sure
you both need all you
can get – I wish you
might get an oppor-
tunity to come home
for a little while – All
send much love
Your affectionate
little girl
Fanny
