Oswego Nov 21/62
My dearest Jenny
We reached
Dryden last night at 7 o'clock
after a very cold wet ride
of thirty eight miles, we found
a Rail Road meeting in full
blast on our arrival. Mr
Dennis
Birth: 1806 Death: 1866-05-31Certainty: Possible
addressed them a length
followed by your humble servant
in a few remarks, we found
the whole country much excited
on the rail road subject. Mr
Dennis stopped with Sears
Birth: 1826
one
of our Directors and I
went home at eleven oclock
with Mr McDougall
Birth: 1824-02-17 Death: 1904-08-26Certainty: Possible
, who
I found very pleasantly situated
keeping house, Mrs M
Birth: 1827 Death: 1898-11-18Certainty: Possible
a very
pleasant little woman who you have met
enquired much

about you & Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29

This morning it stormed
very hard and the prospects
for the day was any thing
but pleasant, I borrowed
an extra pair of drawers
and lap blanket from
McDougall and started
in the rain at 10 oclock
we arrived here about an
hour since having ridden all
day in the rain & snow, stopping
occasionally along the
road to look at the line,
we are accompanied by Messrs
Sears & Dwight
Birth: 1819-04-17 Death: 1885-11-26
of Dryden
who intended going on with
us, we shall change horses
in the morning and start for
Towanda, the roads and
weather are very bad but
I feel twice as well as when
I left home, we may stop

a Towanda a day and return
here on Thursday. Circumstance
may vary our arrangements
and if so I will advise you,
it is possible that that we may send
our horses home and return
by way of Ithaca but is
all undecided now
Love to all
Your Will
