again improving and doing
as well as we could expect
the danger of another hemorage
still exists however and will
not be entirely past for a
week or ten days yet to come.

much pain & inconvenience from
the splint in his mouth which
holds the jaw together, it only
allows a small hole about the size
of a cent to breath talk and
eat through. This will have to be

I have heard nothing further
from MacDougall
his Corps moved before he recd
his leave. Day
or two since that it was not necessary
for him to leave now
I understand that both the 2 & 6
Corps are on their way here to be
mustered out of the service
I have your letter enclosing the
a/c
Will you please call at Babcocks
Shoe Store and see if they have
sent my boots on to Martinsburg
if not please send them here by
express and also four white shirts
as I need them. If the boots ha[ ve ]

and a pair of thin boots which you
