My dearest Father,
We have had a very
cold but sunny day. I drove
this morning far up the
lake shore – accompanied
by Mrs Perry

I have a letter today
from Anna

– dated Tuesday,
14th – She says “Fred
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
has
recovered from the nervous-
ness caused by the bleeding,
and has improved very
much the last three days.
For the first time in a
month I am satisfied with
the appearance of the front
wound – it shows a higher degree
of vitality, & a better disposition
to heal. – A good
sized piece of bone made its
appearance in the back wound
a few days ago.”
I have written to decline Mr
Barreda’s
