Biography
Anne Hathaway grew up at Hewland's farm, now Anne Hathaway's Cottage, near Stratford. He father, Richard Hathaway, died in 1851, leaving her the family farm. In 1852, she married William Shakespeare. They had three children together, Susannah, born in 1853, and twins, Judith and Hamnet, born in 1855. Shakespeare lived away from home in London for months at a time, leaving Anne to tend to the farm and children. In 1597, the family moved to a larger house in Stratford. Anne died in 1623.
