Auburn, July 17 th 1859.
My dearest teacher
I received very joyfully
your kind and affectionate
letter, and should have answer-
ed it immediately had I not
been waiting until I could arrange
my manner of spending our
school vacation so as to have
a nice long visit from yourself–
I expect to go to Buffalo with Ellen
Perry
Birth: 1844-09-14 Death: 1920-04-14
^about the 24 th of this month^ to visit her sister Mrs Grey
Birth: 1841 Death: 1925-09-18
, I shall be at home the second
week in August and thence-
forward. Now can you and will
you come any time during
that week, or as soon after as
possible, and stay just as long
as you can?

with us if your parents
Birth: 1782-09-27 Death: 1888-04-18
can spare you Fanny is calculating much on that pleasure
affectionately F.A.S.–
My vacation begins on the
23 rd of July and lasts six weeks.
We have long and
frequent letters from my dear
Father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
, whose health is improving with recreation from study, he
had a remarkably good passage
and did not suffer at all from
sea-sickness. His last letter came
on Friday of the preceding week,
it was dated at Leamington
England, he expected the next
day to go to Birmingham,
he has not as the papers stated
gone to St. Petersburg, having
been until his last date in London.
and O Miss Hance! He has sent
me a leaf of ivy from Kenil-
worth Castle! and some rose
leaves from Ann Hathaway’s
Birth: 1556 Death: 1623-08-06
cottage! are they not treasures
worth having? I have puzzled
myself with all sorts of inquiries
as to where that precious
leaf of ivy grew? who planted
it? if it was where Elizabeth
stood or Amy Robsart
Death: 1560-09-08
was put? and numberless more
questions.
Mother
Birth: 1805-09-24 Death: 1865-06-21
, Aunt
Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
, Aunty Worden
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03
and all are quite well, that is mother is quite so for
her, Aunt Clara uncommonly
so and Aunty much better
than she has been for some
little time though ^but^ frequently
ill for a day or two.
Kate
Birth: 1837 Death: 1878-04-08
returned last Thursday From Washington and Phila-
delphia.
Mrs Chesebro
Birth: 1826-12-12 Death: 1909-08-24
is as usual and Frank
Birth: 1854-02-13 Death: 1931-05-23
very happy in the possess- ion of some pet Guinea-pigs.
I am studying Geography
and Grammar at school, also
taking lessons in Music and
Drawing. Fred
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
, Anna
Birth: 1834-03-29 Death: 1919-05-02
and Molly were here
for two weeks and Fred gave
me some Latin lessons then.
I regret very much that
your hand is not or ^rather^ has not
been better.
I hope your mother
Birth: 1794-02-24 Death: 1862-06-26
and nephew
Birth: 1858-10-17 Death: 1909-12-27
have quite recovered.
Many thanks for your
very kind wishes for the welfare
of my dear Father.
Much love from Mother.
