My dear Henry Florida 23rd Aug 1831
Yours of the 14th Inst. has been received
from which I discover you mistake my views
as to the appointment to the Baltimore Convn—
I admit the full power of the Central Comt
but object to the expediancy of their selecting members
from counties not organized. In other words I
cannot deem it proper to put it in the power of
Masons to say, it is true the central Comt have
found an antimason
One opposed to freemasonry •
in Orange, but they have
not strength and dare not organize as a party.
Since my last the editor of the Banner has lodged
with us. I urged on him the propriety of
the county organizing in some shape he
said it would be done but no measures
have yet been taken. And as I before
expresed to you unless the County does
come out and Identify itself as antima=
sonic by which I mean those friendly to
the principle I shall for the reason
mentioned think it inexpedient to
accept a nomination from the central
Comt.
Mr Van Duzer
Birth: 1802-05-08 Death: 1841-11-27
tells me he has
sent you the papers in the Certiorari
case. I wish you to take hold of this
business and prossecute it to a .
Van Duzer is of opinion an indictment
will be against the Comt for not opening
the road not withstanding the certiorari
will you confer together on this subject
and determine whether the Certiorari
opperates as a stay of proceedings or not
I am daily suffering for the road and
if they are remis in their duty they

ought to be punished.
We lament very
much the indisposition of your little boys
