My dear Henry,
I received your letter from
Albany yesterday morning. I have been
very anxious about you ever since but must
hope that your illness has not increased[ . ]
Reason:
I sent a letter to Plattsburg Monday last
written by Fred
been more unwell for a days past,
for the first time nursing seems to dis agree
with me. I am much troubled with
loss of appetite and pain in my
breast, have not sufficient nourishment
for my babe, hope to feel better when I
regain my appetite. I shall feel much
solicitude about you until I hear from or
see you. Not a word from Lazette
hope she is not sick. I doubt your receiving
this letter but will venture to send it.
your own Frances

My dear Pa,
Ma received your letter yesterday
morning. I went to the sulphur springs a week
ago to day but I did not meet Mr Clay
I expected. Grandpa
instead of the other horse, he goes very well. I have
killed all my chickens but four to eat they were
very large. I expected you home every day was
the reason I did not write. All of our cherries
are gone the birds picked a great many of them[ . ]
Reason:
We have apples almost ripe. We have not a great
deal of ice in the ice house. I have got 8
mulberry trees. All of my turtles are alive.
There were two balloons sent up last night from
Mr Bemas
Reason:
Your affectionate son
