My dear Wm Henry
From various information
and from personal knowledge of your
situation we have been fearfull your health
would not sustain you through so great
a pressure of business. But we are gra-
tified to hear that the applicants for office
are thinning off and affording you a
little more liesure - and as far as I
have yet learned very general sattisfaction
has been given. Our Goshen friends are
in parties and contending warmly who
are your best friends. They all affirm
that you was their only candidate at
both election that they in the honesty of
their hearts supported you then and will
support you again with more zeal than ever

gates opposed to your interest are utterly false &
unfounded. This is however amongst themselves
and will blow over when the offices for the County
are appointed. John W Smith

is backing his appli-
cations by highly respectable petitions from other
Counties. I do think him a worthy man. One
that would fill the office with great dignity and
correctness. To me it will be gratifying if he can
be appointed. The Surrogate appointment is not
heard from, all are on to learn the result
If my friend Esqr Phillip

with which he would be pleased it would give
