Florida Sep 5th 1848
My Dear Sister
I received your
letter a few days since and
have deferred writing untill
this time in the hope that
I should report better of Tempes
health, which I chave the grat-
ification to state is improv-
ing She is yet confined to
her bed though she sets up
from quarter to a half hour
three times a day, her fever
is very gradually running
down her tongue mostly
cleared off and every prospect
of her getting about in a few
days more

It is ayet quite uncer-
tain when we shall be able
to leave home for Auburn
not under two or three weeks
and probably not untill
October, it depends so much
on contingencies that it is
doubtful, Still I hope we
shall be able to do so
I expect Sarah
up with us
Father
turn just now, but I think
will be better in a few days
Mary Seward
well, she wishes to be remember-
bered to you,
We have expected Clarence
this fall but from

not look for him, had he have
come and we not able to
go up to Auburn I should have
sent Sarah with him
