Philadelphia
Friday. 16th Feb. 1866
My dear Will,
Your letter of the 13th
reached me yesterday. I waited
to hear from Washington
before answering– in order to
know if Father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
intended me to
remain. As this letter may
not reach you soon enough,
I shall telegraph today that
I will wait for you, and
return to Washington with
you. I am anticipating
much pleasure in making
the journey with you and
Jenny
Birth: 1839-11-18 Death: 1913-11-09
.
I have Aunty’s
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03
letter of the
13th this morning– & regret
to hear that her eyes are troubling
her. A letter from Mary
Grier
Birth: 1839-09-05 Death: 1930-06-04
this morning tells me
that all are well at
Washington.
We have a beautiful bright
morning– thermometer 9 above
zero. I spent part of
yesterday with Sam Seward’s
Birth: 1838-04-16 Death: 1916-02-22
wife
Birth: 1837 Death: 1906
– today I am going
to be with Mrs Souder’s
Birth: 1814-06-05 Death: 1886-12-22
eldest
daughter
Birth: 1835-06-03 Death: 1918-05-08
Mrs Markle.
Much love to Jenny &
the children

been better for a day or two
than for several days before.
Very affectionately your sister
Fanny
Love to Aunty.
