My dear Henry,
I was very confident that
I should have a letter to answer to day but none
came. I suppose you received the packet sent
by Mr Benedict
go tomorrow so I write this to send by him.
I wrote you by Mr Benedict that I thought
I should be able to go to Albany about the
1st of February. Yesterday I received a letter from
Lazette
Thursday of this week – he proposes to be absent
about ten days and she would prefer not
leaving home until he returns. This would make
us a week later however I think she will
go sooner if this will interfere with any
arrangement you may have made.
The weather has been so exceedingly cold for
a few days past that I have not ventured
out of my room[ . ]
Reason: I think I will
go to tea this evening and see Pa before he leaves.
We are expecting Jennings
Miss Ingols to here sewing for me. We have some
trouble to keep warm with our green wood. I must
write a few lines to Augustus
