My dear Augustus,
I will write a line
and send to your New
York address as I do
not know where you
may be – peradventure
you may not have
gone South – The
picture came safely
and is just right
it is very beautiful –
Although I am quite
ill many days I

find at the end
of every week that
I have gained some
strength – I walk
in the garden occa-
sionally – Aunty
did not come this
week but will
next – Fred
that Mr. Weed's
family
are going
South – it is too
late in the season
to go far South for
pleasure – Harriet
continues in feeble
health –

I shall write
much to day as this
letter may not reach
you – will write again
as soon as I learn
your whereabouts –
Father
from Utica yesterday
when he had been
a day on business –
did not go to Prov-
idence – Aunt Clara
is well she comes
up almost every night –
God bless you –
your Mother –
