Thursday morning July 22d
My dear Henry
I have hesitated about writing for
a day or two thinking it possible that you might
come home about these days though your letter
written Tuesday intimates nothing of the kind.
I have this morning received a letter from Clarence
Birth: 1828-10-07 Death: 1897-07-24

wishing to know where he is to spend his vacation —
All the circumstances considered I can see no
place but this — his mamma
Birth: 1815 Death: 1879-08-29
obviously does not
expect him there and Augustus
Birth: 1820-05-18 Death: 1889-05-08
said nothing of
any wish expressed for him to come to Florida.
The poor boy would like to feel as though he had
a home somewhere but it would be unsuitable
for him to be at Albany even could he enjoy
being there which he would not while we were
all away — Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
and I think he had better
come here — Should you be of this opinion please
Page 2

write him a line and enclose money for his fare
or I will do so if you desire it — His vacation
commences one week from to day (Thursday) —
We all continue well and expect you home
this week — Your women
x Birth:   Death:   Birth:   Death: 1843-06-24
seem to make
very free use of the house from your account
pray dont tell me any more for I have so little
faculty for amalgamation that I already begin
to think of the necessary purification — I am
sorry Bob
 Death: 1844-01-25
refuses to sing — I cannot imagine the
cause — overfeeding will prevent the Canaries but
from the reccollection I have of Bob's treatment
in this particular I cannot think it affects
him — I have a long kind letter from Lazette
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03

in which she desires me to thank you for you
letter as she fears her inflamed eyes will prevent
her answering it immediately — Your own
Frances
