My Dear Son,
I have been in your
room most of the time since
you left home — it is very
comfortable but I would
rather have you in it too —
I hoped this morning &
yesterday to hear that you
were not sick as I sadly
fear you are – I know
you will write me a line
tomorrow – The weather is
a little milder and we
have occassional glimpses
of the sun – Frances and
her family are still here –
Thomas Millers children are
at Aunt Clara's but I
shall send for them here
soon if Tom does not

come as Kate goes to
Philadelphia next Tuesday
on her way to Washington –
Frances spends almost
every morning "in society"
somewhere – to day she
goes to Mrs Wrights – last
morning was at Mrs Marvins
She has been once to Pisgah
but Aunty concluded,
wisely I think, that it
was not best for them
to remove there – She
'daily' will tell you about
the conviction of the
supposed murder of Beadle .
It is to be hoped they
have the right man –
Dont fail to write –
I sent the apples by rail
road Thursday – freight
paid —
