Sunday March 15
My dearest Sister
Your Wednesday's letter
came Friday — I was sick
all day yesterday and am
not down stairs to day
though better. Friday morning
Henry
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
gave us a fright by
cutting his hand with a
razor — it was the fleshy part
of the hand, the lower part
of the thumb, pretty deep
and bled profusely — he
called me — I tied a
ligature around the wrist and
put on a compress wet with
cold water which stopped
the bleeding — then I sent for

[top Margin]
contracted to a box — Miss Searing
Birth: 1830-01 Death: 1912-02-03
says
they have plenty of clothing — except shirts
and bed sacks — Emily
Birth: 1827-11-20 Death: 1929-06-29
was here yesterday
while I was ill, with the boy

— sister

[left Margin]
The children have gone to Church
I know they
send love.

[right Margin]
How sad that David Compton
Birth: 1823 Death: 1863
should die
here & me not know it —

a Dr
Birth: 1839
to dress the wound with
adhesive plaister — Henry was
not able to use his hand for
two days — to day it is better —
Dr Verdi being near was
called — we were so well
pleased with him that he
vaccinnated Nelly
Birth: 1862-09-11 Death: 1921-10-05
Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29

and Mary
Birth: 1844
— I think there
would have been more subjects
but for the failure of virus —
it was that I procured
from Dr Radde
Birth: 1836-10-16 Death: 1862-03-15
Will
Birth: 1839-06-18 Death: 1920-04-29
has
been called to form part of a
Court Martial at Ft. Mass-
achusetts
some 8 or 9 miles
from Ft Mansfield

— so I
sent the carriage for Jenny
Birth: 1839-11-18 Death: 1913-11-09

Thursday — the cradle came
first in an Army wagon — 'Nel'

has grown and is exceedingly
knowing — Mary
Unknown
says she is
lonesome and cries when there
is no company in the room —
She cries when her mother leaves
the room, and laughs all over
when she comes back — She is
very fond of Mary, who is one of
the best of nurses — They have

room and use the
4th story room — Augustus
occupies your room for
the present — I found when they
were here before that they were rather
too much crowded — Mary slept
the night with Margaret — but
Margaret being rather old sat
up most of the night — they
had only a single mattress —
Jenny often wishes Nelly's Grand aunt

could see her now — I suppose as
Aunt Clara's
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
house was offered for
175 that such must be the rent
for the next year — I have said
nothing to the men about it —
Will the last time I talked
with him admitted that it would
not be right to let the house to
Brown
Unknown
if they paid the rent
He said it better not be let
for over 6 months at a time –
as he may need it — if this
arrangement has already been made
for a year — let it pass — I see
no objection to Mr Gaskill's

to have some 26 or 28 heirs who
can claim it if it if they choose.
About B. F. Hall
Birth: 1814-07-23 Death: 1891-09-06
— Henry says he has
not the power of extending his funds
leave of absence but he will speak
to the Attorney General
Birth: 1793-09-04 Death: 1869-03-25
— The two
articles you sent were not original in
Auburn — the prose was from the N. Y.
Express — the poetry from a Syracuse
paper Fanny says though it seems
to have Auburn marks — I think
the contraband barrel may be
